Who is Gil Elvren?

Elvgren was a classical American illustrator. He was a master of portraying the all-American ideal feminine, but he wasn't limited to the calendar pin-up industry. He was strongly influenced by the early "pretty girl" illustrators, such as Charles Dana Gibson, Andrew Loomis, and Howard Chandler Christy. Other influences included the Brandywine School founded by Howard Pyle.

In 1937, Gil began painting calendar pin-ups for Louis F. Dow, one of America's leading publishing companies, during which time he created about 60 works. Around 1944, Gil was approached by Brown and Bigelow, a firm that still dominates the field in producing calendars and advertising specialties. He was associated with Brown and Bigelow from 1945 to 1972.

Elvgren was a commercial success. Elvgren lived in various locations, and was active from the 1930s to 1970s. His clients ranged from Brown and Bigelow and Coca-Cola to General Electric and Sealy Mattress Company. In addition, during the 1940s and 1950s he illustrated stories for a host of magazines, such as The Saturday Evening Post and Good Housekeeping.

Actually what is Pin-up Girl?

Pin-up Girl is actually calendars or postcard with pretty girl and mostly people will pin it up on the board for their collection and because it's pretty lol!

These are all the Pin-up Illustrator by Gil Elvgren. At first I was quite surprised by all the photos and because all the photos was all sexy girls with merely naked photo lol. Then I realize they are not even embarrassed to show off their merely naked or sexy photo. But now if you shot this kind of photo people will look down on you and critisize you. These are all the pretty and sexy actresses and model that are not afraid to show off their beautiful sexy line of their body.

I felt kinda proud of them and they really look amazing in every picture. Because they represent their lady charm on that era that are Bravery, Independent, Confident and Beauty!! If I really own these flip flop I will definitely wear them with proud because I hope to be like them too, pretty and beauty in the outside while wearing the flip flop! Most important is Gil Elvgren the women that he painted were never the femme fatale, the female adventuress or somebody's mistress. They are the girl next door whose charms are innocently revealed in that fleeting instants when she is caught unaware in what might be an embarrassing situations. So you might just be the girl next door that can be looking AWESOME in the Havaianas Summer Kits flip flop!

This time Havaianas Summer Kits will be launching Gil Elvgren Pin-up illustration pin-up girl design on their flip flop. I never on a Havaianas flip flop before. Havaianas always famous with flip flop and with a maximum comfortable to wear.
