Back to Noms time, today will be blogging about new restaurant at Pavilion Dining Loft, Serai. It was a Asian Fusion cuisine restaurant. Varieties of Malay cuisine and Some fusion food serve here too! I have a love for Malay cuisine too because I am a spicy lover especially with Nasi Lemak, Rendang, Fried Chicken are all my favorite.

Serai at Pavilion Dining Loft.

To my surprise the interior wise was really classy and elegant. Place is really spacious but bear in mind it was quite pack during lunch hour, if you plan to dine in try to book a table first before you dine in.

The chandelier is pretty exquisite and vintage.

Dessert is available here too! The cakes looks delicious and nicely prepare and ready to serve.

[Right] Pineapple Juice RM10
I love the fresh pineapple juice, freshly blend with less sugar and less ice.

[Left] Tropicana Fiesta RM10.50
Ice blended with fresh mangoes and pineapple.

Milky Bandung RM8.50

Rose Syrup with soda, fresh milk, and a touch of pandan.

Nasi Kerabu RM22

Blue-tinted rice served with ayam percik , salted egg, ulam, solok lada and keropok ikan.

Nasi Kerabu always comes in Blue tinted color that it taste a bit sweet compare to white rice. It was a perfect match with fried chicken, crackers and mince of grated coconut. Lastly with the salted egg too. Nasi Kerabu was origin from Kelantan. Surprisingly sambal from Nasi Kerabu was really spicy.

The chicken sauce was not too much as you see but the portion is quite big. The fish cracker they fried is with mini slim size but somehow it was crispy too.

Nasi Ulam Ayam Bakar RM22

Grilled chicken marinated in fragrant spices, accompanied with mango sambal, keropok ikan, fried tempe, served with calamansi and shallots kecap dip.

This dish you can try different sauces from the chicken sauce, mango sambal and even shallots kecap dip. It depends on which flavor of the sauce you like. Mango sambal taste sour and spicy in the same time.

Sauce from the chicken was really nice with the sambal rendang taste. Ayam Bakar seems quite promising with it taste too.

The portion of their Chicken was quite big and really satisfying.

Serai Platter RM25

Our signature dish features Serai rice served with portions of oxtail asam pedas, honey squid, fresh acar and ayam goreng berempah.

Not many rempah like I want, I love the herbs and rempah that are fried with the chicken. Not as dried as its look, but fried until alright with its crispy thin outer skin.

Honey Squid was perfectly fried too!

The Oxtail Asam Pedas was really appetizing with prawn too! At first I can't really taste the oxtail but it was really soft and chewy to bite, with the sauce it was much more tastier.

Mushroom Soup

Ended our Asian Fusion meal with mushroom soup. I been craving for a long time. Rich with mushroom sauce, that I really love. It taste really like fine dining restaurant mushroom soup.

Strawberry Pavlova

It was the best so far I have try. Is just the second time only for Pavlova. The strawberry cream was just right, for me it was not too sweet. But if you are not use to eat dessert, this might be too sweet for you. But I love the combination with the sweet crust and cream, it was perfect with the sour strawberry cream as the topping. Perfect dessert of the day.

Never fail my taste bud for my first time try here. Price was slightly pricey compare to other fusion Malay food that you can try. Suitable for working people for lunch gathering or family gathering.

  5. Been to some of their outlets a couple of times, but more for their ambiance rather than their food. Pretty standard menu that doesn't stand out for me. :(
