Finally Van Gogh Alive is in Malaysia until the 16th of March. At first, I didn’t have really high hopes for this exhibition and kept reading a lot of negative reviews about Van Gogh's exhibitions in other countries. But in the end, I still bought their early bird ticket because I am afraid that I will regret it later since the price is still acceptable for early bird tickets. I decide to go to Van Gogh Alive with my friends and after we set the date we just pre-book our time slot to visit that day.

About Van Gogh
Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history. In a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life. They include landscapes, still lifes, portraits, and self-portraits, and are characterized by bold colors and dramatic, impulsive, and expressive brushwork that contributed to the foundations of modern art. Not commercially successful in his career, he struggled with severe depression and poverty, which eventually led to his suicide at age thirty-seven.

After going in, this is the first area that is with sunflowers. This whole area is actually quite small, but it is surrounded by mirrors on the walls and ceiling as well.

It also makes it the hardest place to take proper photos because the mirror will just reflect everyone who is coming into the room. Both of us keep waiting and coming back to this room when there's nobody inside this room. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Love all the portraits look that my friend helps me to take. It has become my favorite display photo across my social media ๐Ÿ˜š

The next highlight is Van Gogh's bedroom, he also first started by drawing his own bedroom, and over the years he also draws a lot of different versions of his bedroom drawing. Although this painting is not his very famous drawing, I was quite amazed at how he can draw his bedroom with so details and in many versions.

We also get the chance to also sketch his bedroom and his famous The Starry Night drawing๐Ÿ˜‚ We give up during the second sketch of his bedroom. In conclusion, I'm not really good at drawing at all haha.

Some of the random photos we took in the same area, in this section there are a lot of stories written about the history life of Van Gogh and also each story behind his painting. You can definitely spend some time reading and understanding the story of Van Gogh.

Before going into the all-dark room, there was this Infinity Starry Walkway that is decorated with all fairy lights we also took photos together. This pathway is quite small and short anyway. But I like how you use the starry night painting and fairy night to create this sort of dreamy starry corner.

I guess after you scroll through all the photos I took for the next section of the exhibition you will know what the next section of the exhibition is about. Here at the AI Artist Greeting, all the guests will immerse in the ambient lighting and music experience while viewing all of Van Gogh's paintings and understand more about the story of Van Gogh during his painting journey and his struggle with severe depression. This whole experience is about 40 minutes for the whole presentation.

After reading and going through Van Gogh's life story, I really start to feel empathy for him. Due to the struggle of his sickness and no proper care and medication that lead him to commit suicide, it's really a waste that he cannot continue his painting journey and show more of his talent. Although he became famous after he passed away, I can still feel sad and pity for Van Gogh to pass away when he was still young.

I'm wearing a white outfit to this exhibition because when the slide shows up on the canvas, it will reflect nicely onto your outfit if you wear white. The colors of the drawing will be more vivid and complete when it reflects on your white outfit.

Some of the mirror selfies we took together.

We spend quite a long time here viewing his story and also I wanted to take more photos of his painting and with his painting. I am also not sure when will be my chance able to see his artwork again. But I'm really thankful that I get to see it here in Malaysia.

Finally got the chance to take some nice photos in Van Gogh's The Starry Night painting. This is one of his famous paintings that most of the 90s will know and hear about it.

The reason that I really like this painting is that I am very fond of night skies, with the moon and stars. I always feel that night skies are so mysterious and beautiful to look at. Hence I really like The Starry Night painting by Van Gogh.

After the slide presentation, we move to the side hall that continues the journey of this exhibition. Where they show us the sunflower lights - The Light Of Hope, more fairy lights, reflections of Van Gogh painting on fabric, and many more. In this particular section, we get to see how our photo is drawn as an oil painting - AI Self-Portrait.

Special LED presentation - Shower Of Joy on the transparent umbrella. We are surrounded by flowers, and shapes during this part. As I know that this was inspired by the artwork of Reiji Hiramatsu’s Nihonga paintings.

We came to the last part of the exhibition where I also can't stop myself to take more photos here too.
